Urgent sensitisation needed to check rapes
My team at #KDSinghFoundation is counselling and sensitising youths
Friends, cases of #rape are being reported at an alarming rate from all parts of the country … from the commercial capital #Mumbai … to the nation’s capital #Delhi … and from #Jaipur where a man raped his three-year-old daughter!!!
In a shocking incident reminiscent of December 2012 #DelhiGangRape, a photojournalist was gangraped in Mumbai on Thursday. While the nation was busy protesting, another case of gangrape was reported from Delhi where a 22-year-old woman was criminally assaulted by two men.
Another shocking case of abuse has come to light from #Mumbai where a 16-year-old student was raped and forcibly married off to an HIV positive patient. Also, in #Patna a woman had acid thrown in her ears for refusing to bring dowry!!!
What is happening is insane …. It will not be an exaggeration to say that the situation is spiralling out of control. And drastic measures are required to overcome this multi-dimensional problem.
My team at the #KDSinghFoundation takes sensitisation programmes very seriously. In addition to creating social awareness, my team undertakes outreach activities to sensitise youths towards issues such as crimes against women. Sensitisation is an integral part of my Foundation’s multi-pronged approach to combat and prevent sexual violence against women, in all its forms and manifestations.
My team at the #KDSinghFoundation is working 24×7 to bring about the much-needed CHANGE that you and I want to see around us. My Foundation is promoting the #ReportARape campaign for which its toll-free help line number 1800-200-2056 is open round the clock. Let us work together to realise our collective dream of a #RapeFreeNation.
